Tasked to create a fake magazine cover which features a celebrity of my choice for this project. After picking a name for the magazine and an image of our celebrity we had to recreate the photo of our chosen celebrity in adobe illustrator.
I chose a photo of Donald Glover and a photoshoot that he did for “interview magazine” as my reference photo. I chose this image specifically because the owl that is featured in the photo added more visual interest to the illustration but also the composition; The owl breaking out of the frame adds more depth to the relatively flat composition. I also really enjoyed the dark green backdrop used in the original shoot, which led me to also use a dark green for my background and a light green for my sub headers.
