For this project I was tasked to make a buy nothing day poster or a Black Friday poster. The parameters for this project were pretty loose, we could use any method or medium we saw fit, we just had to save and file our poster correctly for the class.
I chose to create a buy nothing day poster and used images of plastic bottles, clothes, outdated technology and other common items found in landfills. I chose this approach because overconsumption and over production is one of the main issues that buy nothing day rallies against, since they contribute so much to waste and pollution. I chose to do a sunset like gradient in order to create contrast. I used real images and fixed the landfill to break the border to emphasize the real impact that capitalism and its byproducts have on our environment and society.
