In other words, a birthday shoot.
I took these photos on my birthday in 2024. It was very impromptu and low budget, I just used reflective surfaces in my room, the right angles, and photo editing. I was feeling very behind and comparing myself to my peers and I began taking and making images that made me feel just as good as they looked. Then by the third image it started taking a much more grungy and grittier route that wasn’t as aesthetically pleasing but much clearer and more unedited. Using this photo shoot to get out of my own head and to also act as a reminder for myself that for the most part we only see parts of people that are allowed to be seen.
